TRIBUTE TO LONGCAT is a love letter to my "cringey" adolescent experiences on the internet from 2006 to 2012.
The internet has tremendously accelerated the speed of culture, art and itself. It is common to look at art or memes from just 2 years ago and cringe or feel whiplash.
The constant change can leave you to feel hyper aware, irony poisoned or lead you to purge your “SO random XD” scene phase right off the internet forever.
Like many people who grew up queer or different, I used the internet to form my first bonds and genuine connections.
This song was made to learn to love and immortalize my cringey internet roots that lead me to self discovery.
It is a slice of the zeitgeist which allowed me to come to terms with and embrace my queerness, special interests and idiosyncrasies free of judgement.
Cringe is Dead, be yourself, for you lol.

In memory of Shiroi (aka Longcat) 2002-2020
The longest cat the world's ever seen and a guardian of our early internet homes.
Longcat to me is symbol of a transitionary and bygone era of the internet
Their legacy epitomizes the birth of contemporary memetics and remix culture from a time where the internet wasn't in our pockets or built into our society – but a place to escape to anywhere with a modem.
Internet culture will continue to change and evolve, but Shiroi will always remind me of the decentralized digital play ground I called home in my youth.

Lyrics:
And I know my heart should guide me but
There's a hole within my soul
I'm a lot like you, so please
Hello, I'm here, I'm waiting
I think I'd be good for you
And you'd be good for me
"Sakura Con 2009"
And you know I'm yours
And I know you're mine
And you know I'm yours
And I know you're mine
Bang bang knockin' on the door
Another bang bang get down on the floor
Oh no, what do we do?
Don't look now but I lost my shoe
I can't run and I can't kick
Whatsa matter babe, are you feelin' sick?
Whatsa matter, whatsa matter, whatsa matter you?
Whatsa matter, babe, are you feelin' blue?
Ooh-wee-ooh, I look just like Buddy Holly
Oh oh, and you're Mary Tyler Moore
I don't care what they say about us anyway
I don't care 'bout that
